Having survived two totally different shows a week apart, and after a quiet time smelling the roses….. we’re back!
Usually our shows are themed and tightly scripted. Three years ago we broke that tradition when Nigel at Smith’s suggested we do a gig with no theme or script, just an eclectic mix of songs, each introduced by the stories in our heads, like real musicians do. He even gave us a title- Off the Cuff.
Now we’re taking that proposition a step further with a brand new Off the Cuff- same concept, but with a totally different bunch of covers and originals. Along with some world premiere Shortis compositions, there’ll be songs from our favourite singers and songwriters (given the S&S treatment), some we’ve always wanted to sing but have never had the chance, a couple of all-time favourites, archival gems, and much more. Above all, we’ve chosen songs that have personal stories behind them. And of course there’ll be a good smattering of satire, and humour, as well as the usual poignancy.
